I couldn't put this book down. The personalities of Christ, the Blessed Mother and Saint Joseph radiated from the text. I felt I was there: sitting at the loom with Mary, eating a communal meal with Christ and his cousins, and walking alongside the Holy Family during this time of their lives. And even though I knew how the big things were going to turn out, it was the immersion in the small details of their lives that held me captivated. A great, great read. Did NOT want it to end.

I was really looking forward to reading this book since I was a fan of this writer before she gave her life to Christ. I'm a Christian now myself. I can still appreciate her attention to detail and her descriptive writing style, but it was a very slow read. The section in the back offers notes from the author that I enjoyed more than the book itself.

I found this a very interesting concept of what Jesus' missing years may have been like. It was a great education for me to be able to visualize how the events and day to day life may truly have been like. This book also gave me an opportunity to put Jesus' family and relatives in some order. Based on happenings in history during these years, this book is an assumption of where and what Jesus' was doing.
