I read this book in 2 days! Wonderful characters and background - I liked this one even more than Belshazzar's Daughter!
Inspector Ikmen is faced with the death of a young man, who was found in an attic apartment, full of drugs, but unlike common drug users in very good physical health. He seems to have been held captive for quite a while, because his limbs have atrophied, and his hands and feet are soft, "unused". The whole apartment has been scrupulously cleaned, and is devoid of clues, except for a collection of small crystal figurines on a dresser.
