Orhan's Inheritance, the debut novel by Aline Ohanesian, masterfully brings to life the characters - Kemal, Lucine, and others - and a vivid, horrifying picture of the Armenian genocide during World War I. Several things are clear in this book. War claims victims on all sides. The history we learn depends on who is relating the history. An appeal to and a questioning of God comes in times of distress no matter what your religion.
