I really like this book more than I expected to. It is a very, very cleverly written story! It pulled me in right away, even though the main character, Adam, makes some incredibly stupid decisions and in the beginning, I wasn't sure I even much liked him. However, as he finds himself hunted by both the police and a killer, his life takes an extraordinary turn with profound consequences. He grew on me and in the end seemed at least a decent person. The story is told through his experiences, and also from the experiences of a police woman making changes in her life and a rich CEO of a pharmaceutical company who is not quite aware of all the unscrupulous activities being played out within his company. I loved the circuitous route by which a sort of justice was served on many levels and the interconnections of all the characters in the book. In the end, it wraps up brilliantly, but with a hint of a few dark possibilities in the future. Well done!
