This book was recommended to me because I am adopting a child from Ethiopia. It is a heartbreaking book about the terrible orphan crisis in Ethiopia (and Africa in general) and the toll HIV and other illness are taking on families. One woman saw something she could do to help one child, and brought meaning to her life while literally saving hunderds others. It is about the best of humanity in the worst of conditions. I think people interested in human rights will find this book compelling.
