I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. The heroine of this book, Lottie, plays a role in Book 1, and I did not like her there at all. But I read it because I liked some of the other characters and I wanted to read the series in order. Cornick is an amazing writer; to be able to take an unlikeable character and turn her into someone so appealing, faults and all, that you get totally caught up in her story.
