This is a story of a newly divorced "good girl" and the town "bad boy" that she has a secret summer affair with.

Even though you might think you have read this story a thousand times, Blake takes a well used plot and deepens it with characters that face serious moral dilemmas and plenty of emotional conflict. While at times I felt Blake relied too heavily on the physicality and sexuality of the hero and heroine, and the opening scene felt unlikely in the extreme, I was surprised by the amount of emotion wrought form the tale, and I ended up liking it quite a bit.

What kept me from being able to enjoy it more than I did was that troubling opening scene, a few instances where I felt the heroine was less than noble about her promises to a hero who needed to trust, and something that I have found in other Blake novels...a ending that was altogether too pat for the depth of the rest of the book.

I thought this book was a winner! There were some very emotional scenes that I have to admit REALLY got to me and there are not many authors that can get that kind of reaction out of me...so way to go Toni Blake! I thought Mick's emotional turmoil was just so heartbreaking. I didn't find myself feeling as much sympathy for Jenny. Maybe because she wasn't totally honest and her idea of "keeping a secret" was a lot different from mine. Plus her being wronged by a cheating husband to me didn't compare to being wronged for a lifetime by parents, society and circumstance.

This is another great book by Toni Blake. I devoured it in one day! It is emotional, funny and totally sexy! (a scorcher) One Reckless Summer is the first in a series, can't wait to get my hands on the rest of them.

I really loved this story. I thought the characters and story grab me from the beginning to end. The story was STEAMY HOT, just the way I like them. Since reading this book, I have also read another one of Toni Blakes books and loved it as well. I know now that I will be reading a lot more Toni Blake books.

Newly divorced Jenny Tolliver comes back to her hometown and discovers the town "badboy" from her past is also back home. Even while Jenny and Mick Brody begin a secret summer affair, they are pulled into a moral dilemna.

This is a great book. I felt so bad for Mick and the things he had to go through in his past and now his present. And I liked Jenny, even though I believe she and I have a different idea about how to keep a secret. If you like fiery hot and emotional romances, this is the book for you. My rating: 5 Stars.

I tend to devour Toni Blake's novels and this was no exception. She writes romance but her characters have more depth, more fullness than most romance novel characters. She's also able to deal with actual issues real life issues such as trust and conflicting loyalties. That's why I keep coming back to Ms Blake's novels.

I read this book as I had heard the author writes lots of hot scenes and I was in the mood for smut. I was not disappointed! Lots of hot, steamy sex but then the story grabbed me as well and I got so involved with the main characters and really liked them. To the point, where I did choke back a few tears at the end. Good book - I am anxious to continue the series!

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a fast and easy read. That being said, I did have a couple of problems with it. Jenny Tolliver, the lead character, had a few instances where she was just not very likable. She seemed to not understand the concept of keeping a secret. And of course she and Mick got really close really quick. I thought that was a little unbelieveable. But, all in all, it was a good book and it held my interest.

If you like to read a sex scene nearly every other page (slight exaggeration), you will love this book. I got tired of it. This book was totally predictable.

Awesome book! I was hooked from the first page! She writes really good characters and you really feel their emotions, etc. while reading this. The story was great and moved along, so much so that you can't put it down once you start! Definitely recommend this one!
