No One Will Miss Her by Kat Rosenfield is perfect 'spooky season' reading. This suspenseful story is best enjoyed with little knowledge about its plot so avoid spoilers!
This novel centers around two couples with very different lifestyles. Lizzie and Dwayne, lifelong residents of Copper Falls, a small Maine town wallowing in economic depression, struggle to make ends meet. Ethan, a disgraced Boston billionaire, and his Instagram influencer wife Adrienne occasionally rent Lizzie's Airbnb-type lake house to escape public scrutiny. When a grisly murder is discovered, Maine State Police Detective Ian Bird investigates the ways the couple's lives are intertwined.
Note: I have a very low tolerance for gruesome details and struggled with the first chapter, but was fine after that.
The audiobook narrators Cassandra Campbell (a personal favorite), Sophie Amos, and Chris Andrew Ciulla are effective in telling this story.
