Chief of Police Marcella Weber has ordered Detective Tracy Crosswhite to work on the Route 99 Serial Killer cold case. It's been nearly twenty-five years since thirteen women were killed over a two-year span. No arrests were ever made. A task force led by Captain Johnny Nolasco was disbanded when the murders stopped. Now Chief Webber has ordered Tracy to work this case and make an arrest. When Tracy asks for help, the Chief assigns Tracy's nemesis, Johnny Nolasco, as Tracy's partner. It has always bothered Nolasco that the killer was never found. He reluctantly joins Tracy in picking apart the case to see what was missed.

When I read that Tracy and Nolasco would be put together to work a case, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the book. These two have despised each other since Nolasco was Tracy's training officer at the academy. I loved how they went from not trusting each other to learning that each of them has the skills of a good detective who wants to solve the case. This book had several twists and turns which kept me glued to the story.

This is the tenth book in the Tracy Crosswhite series. If you haven't tried this series, do not start with this book. Always start at the beginning of the series. But, if you can't, you must read book 9 which sets up the story and characters. My rating: 5 Stars.
