I wanted to like this book- but I just couldn't. The opening scene is at a funeral, and this just drags on and on. The characters did not engage me. I also didn't realize exactly where this story line was going to go by reading the book description, but as soon as I started to get an inkling of where it was headed, I started to get pretty squicked-out.
The third time I fell asleep while listening to this made me decide to return it to the library unfinished. I doubt I'll be reading any more from this author.

I really enjoyed this book. I was a little surprised when I saw where the love interest was headed but I liked that. I have always been a sucker for "forbidden" love.

The in depth description of football made my eyes glaze over a little but actually made me wish I liked sports. Man, football fans can be CRAZY.

Overall, a good solid, beach read.

I wanted to love this book as much as I loved Emily Giffin's other books, but I just couldn't. I really had a hard time even liking the main character, Shea. Her football and coach obsession were hard to stomach and her ultimate love interest was just too bizarre for me. I read the entire book, but I was glad when it ended.

After I started I kept jumping 50 pages ahead just to get to the end. I did not miss a thing every time I jumped back in the text - no surprises, no excitement. EG could have done the whole story line in 10 pages. Disappointed.

A young woman is a major fan of football and because of this may have forgone romantic pursuits to instead pursue her career and passion. I loved how setting it in Texas, and not ever having been there Giffin sets a great stage for a small town where football is the core of the town. There was no doubt that Walker, Texas cared more about football than most anything else.

The arc of this character was fantastic and may have been predictable at times, the sweetness of the story won out. I wanted her to find happiness on the job, life and love - I love it when I am rooting for the character, makes the book so much better. The secondary characters were just as great as the main, I wouldn't mind a follow up book that took the story further in one of their view points.

I have always loved Emily Giffin's books, but this one really disappointed me. I tried desperately to read it, but it never grabbed my attention so I quit reading after a couple of chapters.

This story kept me intrigued and interested in what would happen next. The author's descriptions of people's personatlities, thoughts and feelings and interactions with one another is so real that I felt like I was living the story, not just reading about it.

The book was OK, I guess. Not being a football fan probably made it OK instead of "great". Shea and Coach connected intellectually - not sure if I would call it love. All-in-all, it was a good read.

The members that called this book dissapointing and disturbing were spot on. The synopsis does not paint a proper picture of this book. There was not enough character development. Even for chick lit this was pretty far fetched.

Disturbing book on many levels. They want you to think that this is a normal thing that happens, but to say it is ok is not right.

I was only a few chapters in and I already picked up where this book was going. It gave me the heebie-jeebies. I kept on reading hoping that I was wrong and it was on infatuation.

It was a very long book to read and since I am not a football fan or a fan of the theme of the book, I could not get into it. I did finish it.
