I've been a horse lover all my life and became interested in the sad plight of the wild mustangs when I lived in Nevada a couple years ago. Bureau of Land Managemet are the bad guys. But when I learned that Kathleen Eagle has a series of books that evolve around a mustang rescue ranch, I was ready to read. I read One Brave Cowboy first - it's good, and I'm glad I have 3 more of the series to read. Very interesting characters - in this book the man, woman, child and horse are all broken. I know they'll have a happy journey, but I would like to know what happens to the ex, who is a real jerk.
I do recommend this book. You'll learn a little about mustangs and American Indians.

A short but wonderful book that moved me to tears. Celia is making her way after an emotionally abusive marriage while trying to help her son, Mark, heal from a terrible accident. When Cougar, a veteran with emotional scars of his own, joins them and lets Mark help him train a wild horse the magic is palpable.
