This copy of the book comes with a little board game. I never touched mine so...
The book is great. I like that it focused on what really made me fall in love with The Golden Compass: Lyra's world. I didn't care about all the other worlds and the war to stop god (or whatever it was). Lyra's world, where people's daemons lived outside of them and intelligent bears made their own armor, was the only place I needed to be. If you loved the first book in the main series but were disappointed by how the series went in the second and third books, read this. It gets extra points for focusing on my two favorite characters.
