Defying her formal, austere father, Jemma follows her grandfather's advice to have an adventure just once in her life. She escapes into the Louisiana woods of 1816. Her guide is Hunter, a moral but human man who sees through Jemma's lies, but falls in love with her anyway.

Two girls meet in the dark and switch places. The other girl ends up in "Day Dreamer." This is the other girl's story. Jemma is on the run and finds happiness in a place she did not expect. Jemma and Hunter are good together and their interaction and dialog engaging. You want to strangle him 3/4 into the book : ) but he figures things out in the end. You know who will end up "happily ever after" but you enjoy how they get there and I particularly liked the ending. Jemma is entertaining and her reliance on the Saints very amusing. This book is well written and a great read.

After her father announces that he has arranged her marriage to a complete stranger, Jemma decides it's time to make her own decisions and live her own life. So, she runs away into the darkness of New Orleans and hires Hunter Boone to escort her north to Kentucky and to the adventure she always wanted.
Enjoyable historical romance. My rating: 4 Stars.

I read Day Dreamer first and am glad I did. This is the story of the rich girl who traded places with the woman she grabbed out side the cathedral.
Wanting a life of adventure like her grandfather's stories spoke of she changes places and finds herself headed out of New Orleans with a man she paid to take her north. This story draws you in and you will laugh and cry and just enjoy the story.
