Of these 4 authors, I'd read a book by Leigh Greenwood and heard of Connie Mason; the others were new authors to me. The short stories were built around Southern families at Christmas time before and after the Civil War, 1880 and 1895.
THE FAIRY-TALE CHRISTMAS (Leigh Greenwood) It's going to be a lonely Christmas for spinster Nan Carson. Suddenly that changes when a sick stranger and his daughter arrive on her doorstep. Average fare with nice holiday traditions included.
A CHILD IS BORN (Connie Mason) When Dr. Kent Turner takes a small hungry girl home, he finds his former love, Angela Keller, a new widow, large with child. They are on opposite sides of the Civil War and Angela wants nothing to do with her former lover (although she desperately needs his help). This was an interesting story that turned mushy at the end.
SUSANNAH'S ANGEL (Nelle McFather) takes place before and during the Civil War. Susannah is smitten with a senior from the Citadel. He, Morgan Dancey, is her brother's best friend, and they have come to Susannah's home for Christmas. After their graduation, the two friends go to different sides of the war but meet again late in the conflict. This was a nice story with lots of Southern tradition touches.
A WARM SOUTHERN CHRISTMAS (Susan Tanner) was my favorite tale. Luke Tattersall is worried that he will lose his niece and nephew to relatives because he is a bachelor. So he decides to marry a stranger to thwart his shrewish relatives from their plans.

Four very good stories! I didn't realize until she passed away, that Nelle McFather, author of "Susannah's Angel," was from my hometown of Waycross, GA.
