This book gives a young womans account of growing up in a small town "before the war". I am guessing WW1.
Its kind of sickening in a way, that women did nothing but clean house and gossip, and still more sickening that women havent changed much deep down. But putting that aside, I was unsure of many of the references, but did enjoy stories and wanted to find out what happened to all the people.
There needs to be a glossary at the end of the book for definitions.
