I did not like this book at all. The author used a strange 'gimmick' where he wrote the book backwards -- he placed the last chapter at the *beginning" of the book, then worked backward to the end of the book (which basically had what would have been the first chapter of the story). Sound confusing? It's even more confusing to try to read this mess. I did try reading from the back to the front (starting at the true chapter "1"), but the bland story just didn't hold my interest. The author spent so much time & energy trying to work in this strange format he forgot to work on giving the story some real meat. What a disappointment!

Very disappointing book by Jeffery Deaver. I read half the book hoping it would get better but it never did. It is very hard to keep up with the story. It starts out as a certain day and every chapter after that goes backward (such as 30 minutes earlier, 45 minutes earlier, etc.) Very confusing and not at all enjoyable to read.

Yuck! I did not care for the backwards story line. It might work for a movie (not really but better than this) but is is awful in a book.
