The Grand Master story teller's last book. While still a good story it reflects the fact that Uris did not have time to "complete" it. Portrays the early years of the United States Marine Corps: after the Civil War influential polititians and industrialists attempted to dis-band The Corps, but a "Few Good Men" fought to keep it alive.
