Nude - Audio Cassette Author:Carol Doumani Grand theft in the art world of Venice, California, has a terrific backdrop in the canals and artists' lofts of a former amusement park. Con Uttrell deals in stolen art works, which he then has forged, selling the copies to unscrupulous collectors while slipping the originals out of the country until the heat cools. Now someone has stolen a ... more »Michelangelo sculpture worth $42 million from the J. Paul Getty Museum, and Uttrell has been hired to sneak it off to Japan. He tells rising sculptor Nicholas Stone, who specializes in nudes, that an anonymous buyer will pay $150,000 for an original Stone a huge boost in the sculptor's price. What Uttrell really wants, however, is the hollow bronze casting for the sculpture, inside of which he can hide the Michelangelo during its trip to Tokyo. By wild coincidence, Stone hires as his model for the sculpture 17-year-old Tory Hartman, who happens to be the daughter of a top customs official at LAX. When Uttrell discovers this, he makes a deal with the worried father that Tory's virginity will remain intact while she poses, in exchange for having customs inspections lifted both here and in Japan. But, of course, things go all wrong, in a series of overly melodramatic flurries that include Tory losing her innocence and Stone being menaced by a venomous snake.
