The Civil War in the East is more well-known and written about than the war in the West. Yet, it was in the West where the North really won the war. While the Army of the Potomac lost and won battle, the Union Army of Tennessee never suffered a defeat. What the men who served in that army accomplished in the Civil War is part of every American's heritage.
