I was truly appalled while listening to Lacy Crawford share the trauma inflicted on her as a teen while attending an elite church-based boarding school. Not only was she raped by fellow students at age 15, but school leaders went to extensive lengths to cover up her experience and that of other students ... for decades.

I admire Ms. Crawford's courage to share her trauma and its extensive aftermath very honestly in Notes on a Silencing. It's a tragedy that she went through this, but hopefully her bravery and strength will smash the patriarchy and change systems and institutions.
