Very funny. A collection of articles by an American who spent many years in England before returning to the US.

A collection of humorous columns that were written for a British weekly from the US after the author returned to the US after living in Great Britain for 20 years. British publication.

I love Bill Bryson's writing, although this isn't my very favorite. This book is a series of columns he wrote describing his return from England to American life for a British magazine. The length of the columns makes this a quick read, but gives Bill an Andy Rooney cranky-old-man quality, athough I'll say it's like Andy Rooney back when I thought he was funny.

Still the best travel writer I know of. This particular book is especially good because it is free of his one typical flaw---vulgarity.

it was one of the funniest books i've read in a long time... chapters individual, so that you can enjoy in small chunks of time... it's a humorous look at American's and the American way of life.... I can't wait to read another by him.... excellent entertainment..
