I had the great fortune to spend 3 years living in Northern Italy and I bought this cookbook there. It is one of the most used cookbooks in my collection and contains pretty much all you need to know for basic Northern Italian cooking and it doesn't get much better than that! Recipes are easy to follow, there are many photos, and ingredients are not too exotic. I would recommend this book to anyone -- and I do frequently.
