as far as a human story goes, about a person's life and overcoming hardships, this is quite a book. I don't think it gives much of an insight into all autistic minds, though. the author speaks of incidents of extreme abuse in her childhood and gross neglect even as she grows older, which are, thankfully, not a universal aspect of the autistic experience.

A basically chaotic book but has some interesting bits--gives some idea of what her experience of autism is/was like. Not a strong narrative thread, but worth reading, especially if you have a strong interest in the subject. I recommend the book "Let Me Hear Your Voice" (different author) much more strongly.
