This is a new to me author. Although "read" out of order, I did not feel that I missed out on any important backstory. This was very entertaining and fast paced. I intend to seek out the earlier books in the series very soon.

Have read most of the Harry Bosch books and this one was not a favorite. Good bit of action, but still seemed to drag a bit and, unlike the previous books, the Harry Bosch character was really not very likeable in this entry.

Excitement builds while a frantic father plots with his estranged ex-wife to rescue his rebellious daughter from her abductors. This story was suspenseful and intriguing. California to China and back again was logical and imaginative. I enjoyed each CD and looked forward to the building conclusion.

With each of Michael Connelly's books I read, I become a bigger fan. This one was kept me worried and not sure what was going to happen almost all of the way through. Harry Bosch is an old friend, so I'm delighted when he gets things worked out.
