Description from the book dust jacket:

Half Navaho, the enduring tradition of his tribe runs through Hawk Faulkner's veins. Although sometimes confused by his dual heritage, Hawk takes strength from both parents to become his own man, one who wars with a half-brother over his rights - and over a woman. The woman chooses Hawk's half-brother, Chad, and a life of comfort and wealth. At first bitter, Hawk learns to live with Carol's decision. Janet Dailey has written many books over the years, and this is one of my favorites by Ms Dailey.

My copy is the first printing from 1981. The cover art is beautiful.
This is the story of Hawk, the illigitimate and half Indian son of big time rancher and land speculator JB Faulkner. It chronicles the early half of his life, his involvement with his family and a family friend, Lanna Marshall.

From the ancient way of Arizona's Navaho nation to the new ranch welath of the great Southwest, two arring sons fought for one woman's love.

Lanna's quiet beauty won the love of two very different men-the "white son" and his half-breed brother.

See which one wins her love......

I was not impressed in the least by this book, but I'm not exactly the hot and sweaty romance type. For the right reader, readily enjoyable.
