An adventure/fantasy novel. The hero is Kit Kennedy, a jungle explorer who seems to be a cross between Alan Quartermain and Tarzan. Kit was just a bit too mucho macho for me, but I thought the story was actually fun with cannibal tribes, witch doctors, a lost dinosaur valley, a romance, and a giant snake who becomes Kit's companion. Overall, it was pleasantly cheesy like an old fashioned serial movie. Night Shapes was published in the 60s and set around the turn of the century and there are parts that might be a bit politically incorrect nowadays, but nothing too bad. A good book when you just want to be entertained for a little while.
