Another great Follett thriller. He keeps you guessing until halfway through the book just what is about to happen to this Clipper "flying boat" and who the bad guys really are. From that point on, it's very hard to put down.

Great book by Follett! I think this is one of his very best, most suspenseful novels.
I loved it and read it in just a couple of days!

This was a GREAT book! I really enjoyed it. I read it while I was on a cruise. So it kind of tied in. I was traveling and these people were traveling on the maiden run of Pan Am's first flying boat. I love Ken Follett's suspenseful writing. It is right up my ally because there are very little gory details, people aren't getting shot up right and left, there is always at least one person story or romance taking place, yet every single page is suspenseful. I read his books so fast because I can hardly put them down! I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the kind of suspense that I do.

I don't think I've ever read anything by Follett that I haven't liked. I highly recommend this book. It sounded boring when my sister first described it to me, but it is a good book!

September 1939, England is at war with Nazy Germany. In Southampton, the world's most luxurious airliner-the legendary Pan Am clipper-takes off for its final flight to neutral America. Aboard are the cream of society and dregs of humanity, all fleeing the war for reasons of their own, and shadowed by a danger they do not know exists.

Story of people leaving Europe for various reasons as WWII begins. The 'star' of the book is the Pan Am 'Clipper', a legendary luxury plane and the first passenger service between the U.S. and Europe. Fast paced, entertaining story. Sort of like a mash-up of 'Airport' and 'Casablanca'.

Night over Water was a good story line but predictable. The characters did not have any consequences for their actions and story lines didn't fit their characters.
Not his best, but an easy read

An excellent read. Follett is a master in this area.

Follett's 'Night over Water' could easily fit into the Romance vein of literature. This book is chalk full of romantic interludes. They were interesting enough because of the situations the characters found themselves getting in to.

The plot is set at the out break of war between England and Germany in WWII. Follett manages to bring a good dozen characters to life, exploring their history and their current problems which in turn set up an engaging series of delimas. A great read for all the WWII buffs!

if you ever wondered about the trans-atlantic Pan Am Clipper ship of the 1939s, this book was written around that wonderful aircraft. Author got input from old crew and grounds members.

Ken Follett tells a story about people aboard a flight of the trans-Atlantic clipper plane in 1939, as WWII is beginning. The characters include: an aristocratic family who have been forced to leave England because of the fathers fascist views, a petty crook,an eloping couple who are being pursued by the womans jealous husband and various others.
