If you look on my shelf you will find a small selection of contemporary romances, almost all are by Janet Evanovich and Jennifer Cruise, with a small handful of others. And after today Susan Donovan's book will grace my keeper shelf with Janet and Jennifer. Any author that can make me sit down when I have a mountain of things getting ready to topple over and suffocate me, literally and figuratively, and takes me to a place where my only interest is on the world the author has created and not the suckiness surrounding me wins my heart and a nice warm spot on my bookshelf.

I've ready every book Susan Donovan has written and have enjoyed them all. This one I didn't. I finished it but I didn't particularly like the book. I didn't care for the heroine or the hero in this book. I also consider myself a pretty liberal person but admit I was offended when she kept referring to "girl land" as a"pussy" and "Lucky's pussy". But that's probably because I find the term demeaning and it could just be my issue. Also, I felt some of the scenes were highly improbably espcially the night she meets Lucky. However, read it and decide for yourself.

This is Trilogy series about a group of Women who work for a Newspaper and come together over a love for their dogs. They become very good friends and watch out for each other. Each of the women is different.
The Night She Got Lucky: We get to know Ginger. She is a 40 yr all divorcee with twin teenage boys. Gloria Needleman gives her a push in the right direction to find what she has always been looking for.
This book was a little harder to get through then the first book but still an OK read. Lots of scenes between the two main characters. Easy to figure out the end also.
San Francisco Dog-Walking Group Trilogy (Read in order because they start up right where the last one left off)
Aint Too Proud to Beg
The Night She Got Lucky
Not That Kind of Girl
