If you look on my shelf you will find a small selection of contemporary romances, almost all are by Janet Evanovich and Jennifer Cruise, with a small handful of others. And after today Susan Donovan's book will grace my keeper shelf with Janet and Jennifer. Any author that can make me sit down when I have a mountain of things getting ready to topple over and suffocate me, literally and figuratively, and takes me to a place where my only interest is on the world the author has created and not the suckiness surrounding me wins my heart and a nice warm spot on my bookshelf.

I've ready every book Susan Donovan has written and have enjoyed them all. This one I didn't. I finished it but I didn't particularly like the book. I didn't care for the heroine or the hero in this book. I also consider myself a pretty liberal person but admit I was offended when she kept referring to "girl land" as a"pussy" and "Lucky's pussy". But that's probably because I find the term demeaning and it could just be my issue. Also, I felt some of the scenes were highly improbably espcially the night she meets Lucky. However, read it and decide for yourself.
