Good book, but a confusing ending.

What can I say, if you like Maupin and his weirdness, this is even weirder than the Tales of the City!

OMG. I loved, loved, LOVED this book. I was totally hooked and shocked by all the twists.
Weeks later and I'm stopping people asking, "Have you read this?"
If you haven't, you MUST!!

I did not see the movie, and I must admit the book is a bit odd, but it's a good read.

Although the story was interesting, the ending fell short for me...I think this is based on a real life experience, tho, so maybe that is why the ending is the way it is.
A more or less true story, masquerading as fiction, about Maupin's experience with the *author* of a purported non-fiction book, "A Rock and a Hard Spot". This is a bizarre story and an interesting read but not for the homophobic. There are some retty graphic descriptions of gay male relationships.
Semi-autobiographical book about the live of an author of a radio drama. Maupin is brilliant as always!
Very engaging, quick read that might leave you scratching your head at the very end, but you'll "get it" after you think on it for a little while. Clear, crisp prose and realistic characters that draw you in and keep your attention to the very end.
If you enjoy this author you will like this novel. It was kind of nice to read something unconnected to his "Tales" series.
Deliciously haunting read unlike any of Maupin's other books. The ending will totally blow your mind...
good book
Loved it! Great story. Suspenseful but with a great heart.
Strange book...........
Good read.
