The Dark Hunter series is my favorite paranormal series and this is one of my favorite Dark Hunter books. I love Talon! And Sunshine is one of my favorite heroines. Of course, I also love Ash and there are some GREAT scenes involving him. Good storyline, great smut (you gotta love Talon hanging upside down from his exercise bar), great insights into Ash and his history. This is one that I keep by my bedside and read parts over again often! Enjoy!

This is my favourite so far! I accidentally read them out of order with Fantasy Lover, then Kiss of the Night (number 5) then Night Pleasures and Night Embrace and this is by far my favourite. I'm not too fond of Sunshine, but Talon... mmm mmm! This is a great series altogether but this installment by far gets 5 stars!
This book took me forever, I mean FOREVER to read. I actually feel bad for Talon. Why, you ask? He had to follow up Kyrian's story, which totally rocked. This book fell flat for me and I really didn't want it to. I didn't feel the romance was the main focus of the story, and even though I loved the fact that Talon and Sunshine had a great connection, I did not get that dreamy, Ahh, after finishing it. I immediately put it on PBS for a book credit. Don't get me wrong, I love the Dark Hunter series, and this book makes Archeron even more of a mystery, building up his book, which is still oodles away. I am slowly making my way there. I have Dance with the Devil, Zarek's story from the library in my possession. Can anyone tell me if it's better than Talon's story? If you read Night Embrace book, let me know what your thoughts were!

NIGHT EMBRACE is the story of Talon, an immortal Celt, who (for nefarious reasons unknown to him) is reunited with the reincarnated soul of his dead wife, Nynia. Nynia has been reborn as Sunshine Runningwolf, a modern-day starving artist. Sunshine is the kind of heroine who is easy to relate to: she's made a few mistakes in life, yet she is also independent, realistic, and easy to get along with. Her responses to Talon, a hunky vampire hunter, are genuine (I could imagine myself thinking those same thoughts if I met a guy like him). Talon is also an interesting hero with an interesting back story, and you can really see him fall in love with Sunshine. The best part of NIGHT EMBRACE, however, isn't the romance so much as it is the adventure that revolves around the secondary characters, which include the always fascinating Acheron, a psycho good guy named Zarek, and some were-creatures (not to mention the various Greek and Celtic gods). Reading about these guys made me want to go out and buy the rest of the Dark-Hunter series, just to see what happens to them. This is also impressive, because I had almost decided to give up on Kenyon as an author since her first two novels seemed WAY too dopey and silly to me. NIGHT EMBRACE redeemed her, in my mind. I'm looking forward to the next novel in the series, now.

'Night Embrace' is all about Talon of the Morrigantes, a doomed Celt and familiar to those that read 'Night Pleasures'. I should say that it's the story of both Talon AND his ladylove Sunshine, but honestly Sunshine is more of a supporting role in this book rather than a main character. She's weak, fruity, and somewhat silly and I found her hard to like in the beginning. But that's okay, because Talon is so wonderfully complex and fun to read about that you won't be able to put the book down.

Out of the 3 Dark Hunter books I've read, this one was not my favorite. It was still a good read, but I had trouble with the first few chapters getting into the book. I still recommend this as a must read in the series. The second half really picks up steam. It gives you more back ground into the Dark Hunters, Ash, and the other paranormal packs. Now on to #4!

I love the Dark Hunter Series. Talon and Sunshine were 2 good characters but my fave so far is Julian and Grace. (Book 2) Each story has been unique, but need to be read in order, because they tie in together. Like everyone else, I'm working my way to read Acheron. Kenyon keeps giving you glimpses into his "life" but I cant wait to see what she has in store for him. I all ready know he is going to be my favorite.

I really enjoyed reading Talon and Sunshine's story. I thought the passion and sexual tension between the two got hot early and kept up a great burn through the book! I have a little bit of a literary crush on Talon and Sunshine appeals to the hippy in me! I love the way the two of the mesh and both infuriate and inflame each other. Great read! I was somewhat indifferent to this series until this book and I am now furiously hunting down the rest of the series eager to see what else Kenyon can show me.

This books was fantastic and a typical good read from Sherrilyn Kenyon. She continues to bring in past characters as well as new ones and ties the story line to everyone. I look forward to book 4 of the series and to other books by the author.

Dark-Hunter novel, those sexy, soul-less men who fight daimons to keep humans safe. Like all the dark-hunter stories, you have your hero, existing for as long as 2000 years without a soul, knowing only his fights to save humanity and you have the one woman who can love him and touch the god's hearts, giving him back his soul. Good strong characters, she makes you care about them...rejoice when they do, cry with them.

This book was really good. I like the fact that Sunshine knew what she wanted from the beginning and was not whiny about it. Talon was a good hero and they made a very good match which made really good reading. Out of the Dark Hunter Talon and Ash are my favorite one's yet. The good thing about Sherrilyn and her Dark hunter books is that you really don't have to read them in order to know what is going on. She lets the reader know what's going on without having to write pages and pages of it. I read this one out of order and read Ash's story out of order and did not make a difference.
If you have never read Sherrilyn Kenyon or a Dark-Hunter story...give it a try. Amazingly detailed stories that connect together. You put one down and go searching for the next. This series is so awesome...my husband requests my retelling of the stories as I finish reading one. -V. Garber

I really like the dark hunter series
Dark-Hunter novel. This one is the story of Talon of the Morrigantes. At night he is the baddest thing in town and for centuries he has protected the innocent. All he wants in return is a hot babe in a red dress who is only interested in one night with him. Instead he gets a Mardi Gras float that runs him down and a beautiful woman who saves his life and puts his $2,000 custom-made leather pants through the washer and dryer. Humorous, sexy, imaginative and as always, the war between the Daimons and the Dark-Hunters with interference from the gods.
Another great story in the Dark Hunter series - this one is about Talon and Sunshine. He is a Dark Hunter who has buried his emotions for 1500 years - She is a woman who is full of life and sees life for its possibilities. A great mix of action, adventure, romance and paranormal. This story just adds to the Dark Hunter series - you find out more about the Dark Hunters overall, as well as more information about the individual Dark Hunters, i.e. Zarek, Ash, Valerius, etc. Can't wait to read the next one!
Talon's story is wonderful, like all of the night-hunter books.

I am finally getting used to Kenyon's writing style. It was difficult at first, the way she switches between the character point of views, mid-paragraph. It is not something I am a fan of, but I have learned to deal with.
Also, this book was even more confusing than Night Pleasures, which I thought was just a lead in for future books. I had a very hard time with trying to keep everyone/everything straight. We are introduced to gods, goddesses, dark-hunters, were-hunters, were-panthers, were-bears....and the list goes on. I found myself wanting to start a journal to keep track of all the names and what the heck they were and even who they were related to.
Nevertheless, it was an enjoyable story and I am off to start #4. With all the extra subplots, the story of Talon and Sunshine was still rather good.

It was good for the third book in the series, I would recommend it.
They just keep getting better! This is Talon's story. I really like him and feel his pain through the entire book. Sunshine is ok--a little spacey--but not too bad. Its Mardi-Gras and Acheron has to call in reinforcements to handle the extra daimons that will be out during the festival. He sends for Zarek,the psycho, who has been basically banished to Alaska for hundreds of years. Zarek comes off as a bad ass you don't want to mess with, but I liked him. There were moments when you could tell he was wanted to reach out to people, but when he was rejected he just covered it up with rage. We also meet Vane, a were-hunter. Acheron has a very big role in this book, and we learn a bit about his past, he has an evil twin--Styxx, his relationship with Artemis, and more. I was happy to see they each get their own stories later on
I loved this book. Sherrilyn Kenyon is a writer that grabs your attention right away, and keeps it all the way through the book. The book in turn made me laugh, cry and gasp with surprise. I would recommend it to everyone. It has something for everyone.

Sunshine was an idiot! (Gets lost in a city she's lived in her whole life, dries leather pants in the hot dryer (oops they shrunk!), leaves a wallet out in plain sight at a public laundromat, and is shocked (shocked I tell you!) that someone took it!). Duh-oh! Strangely though, even as I shook my head at her stupidity, I liked her.
Definitely interested in Zarek and his story (next book!). The supporting cast is what kept me reading this book.

I like kenyon books. Even if the characters get a little stale. The plots are good, and imagtive. This book was good, the books that fallow are okay.
Sunshine is such a fantastic and funny character and I loved reading about her and Talon.
I'm not much for the hot seeded romance part but the story line is really intreaging.

Dark Hunter novel. Couldn't put it down.
This is the 2nd book in Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series. Talon is a 1500 year old Celt who's cursed by the God Cumulus that anyone he loves will die. Therefore, he's lived the last millennium in solitude, doing his duty as a Dark-Hunter to save the human population from Daimons. Sunshine Runningwolf is an artist, with the soul of his long-dead wife, who just may be able to save Talon's soul, and break his thousand-year curse in the process.
I liked this book a bit better than Night Pleasures, the first in the series. Though some of the same things that bugged me about Night Pleasures still plagued me here as well. For instance, mostly towards the beginning of the book, Kenyon would drag on an on about how gorgeous Talon's body was, how sculpted his pecs, saying the same thing over and over and over.... Those parts read like some sappy romance novel to me and I find my mind wandering. I remember thinking, like I did with the first book, that if this didn't stop, I was putting down this book and not picking up any more in the series.
Fortunately, after the first 100 pages or so, the author must figure we've got the picture: Talon is a hottie! Okay, enough already! I love this whole series
By turns funny and touching...a compelling story that will make you laugh out loud and then try hard to hold back tears.
Good Story with lots of characters. The funny thing is here are all these mighty powerful scary characters that kenyon creates and then to our surprise when they get together they act like little kids fighting over toys which is so hiliarious and a compliment to her brillance for making them likable to us.

This was the first Kenyon book I read, and I have to say I was hooked thereafter...and have tried to read and obtain every book since. If you like the ideas of vampire hunters, complete with fangs, and lots of steamy sex, read on...
Not really one of the best in the series. It took me awhile to finish this one, I kept losing interest and putting it down for later. Possibly I could chalk it up to having recently read "Acheron" with it being so depressing it quite possibly has totally ruined enjoying any of the rest of the series.
Still Intreging enough to keep me reading the series. Some of her style doesn't really ring with me but the overall plot keeps me coming back.

I liked this book. The Hero has some major stuff he has to work through and It was nice to see the Heroine work on not only accepting her personality but accepting the possibility that someone could accept her and love her without trying to or expecting her to change who she is. It was also interesting the Way the author introduced and dealt with one of the major aspects of their relationship. Strong "moving on in life and being who you are in the moment" theme

The 4th book in Kenyon's series. The plot was great and brought in some new characters with different out-of-this-world skills. A romance between a slayer and a human with numerous twists and turns in the storyline. Can't wait to read the next one!

If you love the paranormal romace genre, then this is for you. This Dark Hunter series is so HOT and has you cracking up with laughter. I had to be talked into this by a friend because I don't prefer the paranormal, but am I glad I tried it! Now I rush right out and buy them new because they can be hard to find. I just can't wait for the next book because they get better and better. Try this and you will be hooked!!

This the second Dark-Hunter book I've read. I loved the myriad of character interactions: you've got Were-Hunters not to happy to work with DH; a Roman DH and a Greek DH, who never forgave the Greek/Roman wars, in the same city; all these Gods fighting with each other; a bar where everyone (DH, WH, Gods, Bears, oh my!) hangs out...
And Sunshine, she cracks me up! What a wonderful absent-mined artist, who *would* lose her head if it wasn't attached. :)

Even through the first part have many great parts there were some hard to fallow moments, but over all I did really like this one.

But his uncle let him live but with consequences. Talon grow up fighting is way to earn his place as his uncles heir. But He also found his soul mate in the process since he was a young boy. While human Talon fought for is uncle, loved his sister and came home to his pregnant wife. But all that came crashing down when his uncle was killed, then his aunt but that was nothing to what he had to face. When his wife was in labor and delivered a stillborn son and then later Talon held his dying wife in his arms as well as their son. Next came his worse fate when his clan murderer his only living sister and him in fear of the Gods, that was his cry to Artemis. Since then Ash taught Talon to bury his emotions so deep that he would never have to face them.
Sunshine is Talons other half, she felt that the first time she met him. She doesn't back down to anyone, she is her own boss and he doesn't like anyone telling her what she can or cant do. She is also Talons wife. She has the soul of the woman that Talon loved when he was human and now she doesn't know if Talon loves her for her as Sunshine or that he loves her for the soul of his long died wife. She has struggled for this since she first felt love for this dark hunter. When her life is on the line she starts taking matters into her own hands and has to find a way to help Talon reclaim his soul and have a future with him or find a way for her to be something so she can be with him no matter what he is.
This book you also get a little look into Ash's life behind the Dark Hunter/God and see the struggle he has to deal with on a daily basic with his hunters and Artemis. Also this is were Valerius(?) shows up and also when Kyrian and Julian learn that the Roman is in their town as well as a few houses down from Kyrians home. Not a good time to be in New Orleans, when those two found out. If you know the story between the two Greeks and the Roman.
