I have a feeling that you need to be from England to get the most bang from this book (the sensibility of the writing is SO British), and therefore my enjoyment of the novel was a bit lessened. I felt similarly about the much-praised "The Line of Beauty" as a point of comparison... Nonetheless it was still a good story, dealing with privelege, class, art forgery.
