Very clever and witty book. I started reading this to my 8 and 10 year old only to tell them what it was about, but it soon turned into me reading it for chapter after chapter. Soon we got through the whole book. They enjoyed it so much with me reading it out loud...and I enjoyed it too. I hadn't read to them out loud for a few years now. It was great!
Cute book. Good for 4th graders on up.
My son loved this book. I am so glad to find another series he will enjoy. He read it quickly and went on to read the next one. Thanks PBS!
my 9-year-old son loves this book and I do, too. It's full of wit, secrecy, adventure, and two characters who just aren't sure what they are doing, but give it a try anyway. I'm surprised the series isn't more popular, but give it a try and I think you'll enjoy it. Great for those 9-12 year olds. The author really hooks the kids when he starts the book with "I can't tell you the real name of the characters" and words like this.
Delightful fantasy adventure written for children but fun for grownups, too!
great book but a little confusing
Choose top down or toe up, different heel turnings, different toe options, different ribbings, cast on options, and sock tops including tabs so you can pull your socks on like boots. There are several ways to turn the heel and do the increases/decreases for the instep that you have never seen before and will definitely want to try. There are knit & purl patterns, lace patterns, or color patterns. It also tells you how to adapt your favorite stitch pattern to the methods shown in the book. The options in this book could keep you knitting socks for years.
