Definite Keeper. The story really made you connect with Bella's pain over losing Edward, but it shows good relationship development between her and Jacob. I fled through this book at lightning speed awaiting Edwards return. The events of this book end up being crucial in the development of events in the next 2 books. PLEASE dont skip it cause everyone complained about it.

The overall story was good, but I'm really surprised at how annoying I can sometimes find Bella and Edward yet still love the book. Edward is 5 times her age and is sometimes more immature (the whole guilt thing) than Bella.
The werewolves in this are pretty cool, even though sometimes annoying.
I found this a great read, though, even with some of the eye rolling I had to do over things that happen in it.

"New Moon" is the second book in Stephanie Meyer's Twilight saga. "New Moon" begins right where "Twilight" left off. But when things go bad during Bella's birthday party at the Cullen house (she cuts herself, and all the Cullen's have to leave to keep from hurting her), Edward decides that Bella is no longer safe with his family.
When Edward and his family leave, Bella is left devastated and depressed. But then she and Jacob become better friends, and the two enjoy many days together. The one promise Bella made Edward before he left was that she wouldn't do anything dangerous. That promise doesn't last long, and soon everyone's life is in danger.
I didn't enjoy "New Moon" as much as I did "Twilight". It does, however, have a cool writing technique. When Bella is depressed she says that time passes, but she doesn't notice. When you turn the page, all it says is "September", the next only says "October", "November", "December". Meyer's technique here definitely conveyed the emotions and tone of the novel. I was quite impressed by this.
Of course you're going to read "New Moon" if you liked "Twilight". So, get on with it.

"New Moon", the second book in Stephanie Meyer's overly-hyped teenage vampire love series, is in some ways better than "Twilight", the first. Of course, many second books are, considering characters are now established and the true meat of the story is allowed to emerge. If you enjoyed "Twilight", pick this book up and continue with the story. It's not, as some might fear, merely "Twilight 2". In fact, most of the book doesn't even involve vampires (I'm sure smart readers out there can guess what kind of things the book does take time for)! The last section of the book, while unbelievable, is exciting and dark, as well. I liked it!
Well all I can say is "I'm a lover of this series". There seems to be so much debate and love/hate going on with this series and with this author... I really don't understand any of that. It's a book people, some love it, some hate it. No problem.
This book accomplished just what I wanted it to do, it sent me to a place where I could forget all my troubles, my problems and actually feel I hadn't a care in the world compared to what was happening on the page. What else is a book supposed to do? I don't always want to learn something when I read,I don't always want to debate in my head whether this is realistic or what impact this book is having on someone else... sometimes I prefer to be entertained and I must say this series and this book did entertain me and I am thirsty for more.
I can't wait to begin the 3rd book, in fact, I don't know how I'm going to survive the night waiting for my daughter to bring it to me tomorrow morning. LoL

Great Book! Must Read the whole series!
This is my favorite novel in the Twilight saga. This is again a series that is purely to be enjoyed and serve as entertainment. It is not literary greatness. I loved seeing Bella and Jake's friendship grow, and enjoyed the character development. The Cullens play a diminished role in this novel, and I enjoyed seeing Bella as a teenage girl struggling to come to terms. I got lost in this book and finished reading it within hours.
If you liked "Twilight", you'll like "New Moon" and want to continue reading the rest of the books in the series. "New Moon" seemed a little more teenagery than "Twilight", and I realize the intended audience for the most part is young adult females so I would never discourage reading it for that reason.
As far as the Twilight Series goes in my opion this is the worst one, but still a very good book. It is a must that you read Twilight first and as you are reading this book you will understand why it is not my favorite out of the series. It is still a very interesting book and easy to read. I am very fond of the way Stephanie Meyers writes she makes you feel that you are there and going through what the main charecter, Belle is going through.
This one was a little depressing. It was really good still, but kind of a downer. I really like that you get to know Jacob more, although I'm still an Edward fan!
I love this entire series of books! Not quite as good as Twilight, but a very addicting! I couldn't put it down. 4 1/2 stars.
I love the fact that Jacob is in this book more.He is a great character very happy and upbeat about everything.I also enjoyed the twists in this book.
This series is an absolute horrible piece of fiction. Aside from the fact that Meyer completely butchers vampire lore, Bella is the most vapid, anti-feminist character that I have ever had the misfortune to read. The entire series involves Bella worshiping Edward calling him everything from perfect to glorious to God-like, and wondering why he is in love with her when it's so clear that she's a stupid, fragile, clutzy human who doesn't deserve him. Bella is, in a word, too stupid to live. I am seriously dismayed that so many young women adore this series when it teaches them that the only way to validate yourself is through being loved by a superior man. Aside from the troubling anti-feminist message Meyer also lacks the basic artistic skills that it takes to write a good and intriguing book. Her characterization is two-dimensional at best and her ability to plot and build a climax is even worse. The entire series centers around the relationship between these two characters, Bella and Edward, who magically fall in love at first sight with no explanation other than that Edward is hot and Bella smells tasty to Edward.
Bottom line- this book is pure juvenile romantic fantasy with less substance than a Harlequin romance and even worse writing.
