good book if you are a dog person, may not be the best if you are not. She uses a lot of dog lingo that might not make sence if you don't live in the dog show world. Quick read.

Like dogs? Like realistic heroines who like dogs? Like a storyline that really continues from book to book? This series is great! (and not just because I own Alaskan Malamutes, too.) I can't wait for the next installment.

All in all this was a good book and would like to read more from the author but it had too much information on the various dog training and type of breeds for my liking. Although I'm a fan of dogs (as you can see in my picture) I thought it was too much details that in the end I ended up skipping over to get back to the main story line about the murder of one of the dog owners/trainers. The mystery kept me guessing and it was a quick read - but it was even quicker since I ended up skipping over some of the informational details!! :-)

A good mystery, especially if you like dogs.
At an obedience trail, Holl winter is shocked when the session ends in Murder.
These are older books but still in good condition

lots of information about dog breeding and showing, and a clever mystery as well.
The first of Connant's malamute mysteries. Connant has a lot to say about living with dogs and their health and safety, and then there is a mystery on top of the information. Humor, too.

The first book in the Dog Lovers series introduces you to Holly Winter and her new dog Rowdy. A light yet enjoyable mystery I learned new information about malamutes and lok forward to the next books in the series.
This is the first in the long-running series about Holli Winter, the writer for dog magazines, and her dogs. Im running out of shelf space and decided that Id give away this series but I wanted to re-read at least one of them before they go, so I pulled this one out. This is a nice little whodunit; a man is strangled with his dogs leash at a training class. Holli has an engaging voice and her occupation gives her the perfect entry to ask questions amongst dog people. We discover how she got Rowdy, her first malamute; we meet the boyfriend Steve, the neighbor cop, and her friend upstairs. I dont read the current ones now as I felt the later ones in the series were beating me over the head with the authors views on dog ownership (btw, I tend to agree with a lot of it, but the lectures were just too much) but re-reading this one helped me remember why I did buy a bunch of them. If you like dogs and havent read Conan before, give her a try. Theres quite a lot of dog show info and terminology but it does seem appropriate to introduce this series.

If you're a dog person and into professional training, you'll enjoy this insight into the inner workings. I could imagine each adorable creature with her descriptions.
