This book is extremely comprehensive, including information from meal planning through how to select produce to cooking techniques and recipes. The recipes rely on normal foods, readily available, but discuss less common ingredients that you might want to explore. There are 100 pages of nutrition information, thoroughly documented, with nutrition counts for each recipe. The book includes The New Laurel's Kitchen Good Guide, an extremely simple yet well-researched and documented approach to meal planning, that works for vegans, vegetarians and omnis.

I cannot imagine keeping a vegetarian kitchen without this book, and it's invaluable in an omni kitchen, as well.

This is a very good cookbook for vegetarian cooking. It is a good basic book with step-by-step instructions. The section on making homemade breads was especially informative.

The exterior of the book is somewhat worn.
