Part of the overall Red River Series. These are best books I have read in a long time. Inspirational reading with an excellent story. Lauraine Snelling's books ahve been recommeneded by Sons of Norway, I am glad they turned me on to her work. LOVE it.

This book is the sequel to "An Untamed Land". I really enjoyed it. As always I have a hard time getting into the story but after a while I can't put it down. I think that if you read the first book you will want to read this one as well. I will be reading the third book but as an e-book. Lauraine Snelling is an excellent storyteller and really captures the time of the Norwegian homesteaders in the Dakota Territory in the 1880's.

This is an excellent series about pioneers that came from Norway and settled in North Dakota.
The characters are so real, you'll feel like you know them when you finish!
I recommend this if you like historical fiction!

The best of the series. It is good to get a firm foundation for all the characters before going on.

This is a good story. It holds your attention and is a fast read. You are left with lots of questions at the end. Waiting for the next in the series.

This book continues the story of the Bjorklund family. Ingeborg, now a widow, is recovering from her loss and looking toward the future. This book is a Christian historical romance set in the Dakota Territory and a prequel to the Daughters of Blessing Series.

I waited 7 months for this and finally went out and bought a copy. I enjoyed the story as much as the first book. I am starting the third book in the series and so far it is as good as the first two. ENJOY

I had read many of the books in the Red River of the North, but never this first one. It was so good, I now have to find more of her stories that I have not yet read.

Book 3 in the Red River of the North series continues to follow Kaaren and Inge and their growing families, as more family members come over from Norway and they work to prove the land that Roald and Carl first claimed. This book concludes at the end of the first five years on the land, when the proving of the claim is final and the land is finally, truely theirs. So much occured in the short span of five years that is covered in the first three books, but it is still a heart-warming tale that continues to make you want to know more and more about the families.

Excellent second book in the series. I liked it better than the first. The story continues with the Borklund's struggle in North Dakota. The description helps you picture the land and the characters. They both become quite real. I recommend to all.

This is book two in the Red River of the North series. After the death of Roald, Ingeborg struggled with balancing her life so that she could keep her land, be a mother to her children, and fulfill her and Roald's original dream, to start a new community in the Dakota territory. A beautiful and moving story of how God never gives up on us, even during our "hour" of pain, sorrow, and bitterness.
