I enjoyed it- 4 stars. More of a traditional Regency style than Putney's older books. I like stories where the hero knows his own mind. In this one, the heroine had an abusive first husband and has to be convinced to try marriage again. I went back and read the first book in the Lost Lord series, but it's not as good as this one.

Mary Jo Putney is one of my favorite authors. This book is not the best thing she ever wrote, but was still a good read. The characters are all memorable.

I have been enjoying the series so far. Mary Jo Putney brings romance and intrigue together to create a great story. Sexy romance between the two main characters while someone plots their demise. I think you'll lik.

A good story. A bit too much philosophizing, as usual with Putney. Well drawn characters and a convoluted plot.

I really enjoyed this story, have enjoyed all of the Lost Lords so far. I have read them out of order but still could follow everything.
Like the strong main characters and how they were honest with each other so there were no wacky misunderstandings making things worse.
Good storyline, moves at a great pace and lots of intrigue to keep you turning the pages.
