It's based on the anime of the same name. If you like giant robots and angst, you'll like Eva.

If you are familiar with the anime series of the same name, you'll like this book. Volume 1 I would say covers episodes 1-3 (I think, haven't seen the anime in quite sometime) of the anime. Supposedly the manga takes on a twist of its own from the anime, so if you're into the world of Eva this might be for you.
