I received this book through the Goodreads first-reads giveaway.

I have mixed feelings on this book. On the one hand a lot of the info was a bit too technically detailed for my taste but I can see how it would appeal to a reader who is really into the space program and flying, etc.
I wanted to read this book to get a better feel of the whole experience of being the first person ever to set foot on the moon. Even though Neil Armstrong is described as a very private person throughout the book, I think the author did a good job of describing the emotions Mr. Armstrong was feeling as well as giving the reader the feelings of suspense and excitement this historic event inspired in not just the space program but millions of people all over the world. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get a more in depth look at how Neil Armstrong made it from a small town boy from Ohio to one of history's most famous people ever. Just skim over the technical details if that part isn't what you came for ;)
