Book 5 in the Maggie O'dell series is really a sequel to "A Perfect Evil", book 1 in this series. I was wondering when we would hear from Father Michael Keller again. And here he is on a hit list!

A return to an old character, Fr Keller. Once again Alex keeps you on the edge of your seat. I liked the ending even though I had guessed at it earlier. Looking forward to more Maggie O'Dell books.

Another great Maggie O'Dell FBI agent story, and finally the follow up to "A Perfect Evil" with the return of Father Keller...
Fifth in a series, but works well as a stand-alone.
Kava weaves together two waves of frightening murders -- a series of young women whose decapitated heads have been found in the Washington, D.C. area, and a series of murdered priests who have all been involved in pedophilia scandals.
The observant reader will probably identify the Master Villain fairly early on, as Kava is generous with the clues and doesn't clutter things up with too many red herrings. At the heart of the novel, however, is a moral dilemma, dealing with the essential conflict between the law and true justice.

A Necessary Evil is a sequel to A Perfect Evil and is very fast-paced with lots of suspense and twists. Meeting up again with the evil Father Keller and Nick Morelli from the first book makes for an startling surprise ending. While Maggie is as vulnerable as she is strong, sparks continue to fly in her relationship with Nick. Looking forward to the next book to see what the future holds for Maggie and Nick.
Meet FBI agent Maggie O'Dell. Someone is killing priests, and Maggie must profile who that could be. A internet game that is popular among victims of abuse by priest is a lead. A Necessary Evil is that Maggie must accept the help of an abuser to sold the case.

FBI profiler Maggie O'Dell is called in to profile the murder of a priest. Good story, interesting (and somewhat unexpected) ending, and some interesting characters.
A new author to me, and a repeater. Very good plot and character development. Easy to empathize with the main characters. You'll enjoy this one.

This is a fast moving addition to Alex Kava's series. I liked both mysteries, but thought the identity of the villains was very easy to figure out. I liked the addition of Detective Pakula. He seemed like a good detective that didn't have a problem with getting help from the FBI. I'm just sorry we didn't get to see Maggie's partner, R.J. Tully, in this book. My rating: 3.5 Stars.

I have yet to read a book by Alex Kava that I have not enjoyed--very good author.
