The first half of this book is wonderful! I thought five stars for sure. Then the book fizzles. I kept waiting for an actual conflict. The 'does he really love me or is it just biological' question is getting old. I have read that story line numerous times in LL's previous books. Both Mica and Navarro were great characters but they need something to fight for or against. If you love the Breed Books you will still like this book but it isn't memorable.

I liked this book for the series. Yes the threat sequence died off in the middle, but I liked learning more about Mica & Navarro, than *another* threat. It was a good change for me. These 2 characters are pretty unique & i liked them a lot. Navarro is also a Recessive Breed, so it was fun to see *that* side as well. & as always HOTNESS!

Yes pages do seem to be missing like another reviewer has stated around 298, but its not that critical. U just get lost for a minute. No biggie. Not a keeper, but still 4*s from me :) Enjoy!

Really enjoyed this story but wanted to put out there that there are several pages missing to the story.

It appears to begin around page 298 or so. If you go to Amazon.com and read the reviews and then the comments under at least one of the reviews, this is pointed out.

There are quoted statements from the author's website that she apologizes for the missing pages and that those pages should be available on her site--if they are not already. She isn't sure how it happened but somehow pages got deleted from the story before it was printed and it was issued this way.

Typical breed book although at this point Im really over the mating heat dilemma. Enjoyable although the getting a bit repetitive.

**spoiler alert**

Huh?? I love the Breed series, but the mating heat topic is getting old. I absolutely loved Navarro and Mica, they are a great couple. Their passion left me wanting a cold shower afterward, which is the best part of this story, but I think it is a weak book for the series, and their story seemed to get weaker at the end. And why didn't anyone mention that Mica is pregnant? The end was confusing, and at times I felt like there were pages missing. How did we get from the steel walled lab hallway to their bed with Brandenmore sneaking in? And just that quick its over? I'm still scratching my head over this one. Did Brandenmore really think he could escape Sanctuary with Mica? And who was the spy? Maybe its time to bring this series to an end? This book is better than the last one, Styx's Storme, but it's still not keeping the series alive for me. Not ready to give up yet though........

This is maybe the 10th Lora Leigh Breeds book I've read. If you've read one Breed book, you've read them all. The Mating Heat dilemma is so overdone. The best part of this book is the cover.
Navarro's Promise needed a better editor. The plot is weak. The dialog is so corny at times even for a romance story that I cringed. If you were to give me three or four samples of dialog from various books, I could pick out the one written by Lora Leigh. She just has a distinctive way of phrasing things and I don't mean that in a complimentary way either. I read this book because for some reason I can't seem to wean myself off the Breeds books. Lora Leigh needs to spend more time developing the storyline in a book. She also needs to develop the storylines that were introduced in other books. There's so much potential in the Breeds stories, but she seems to be phoning in her books. Yet, I still read them. I'm still waiting for Cassie's story so this was a good starting point for that tale. If you like Breed books, you'll want to read this. If you haven't read a Breeds book before this isn't the story to read first.

i loved this book. i liked that there wasn't a real conflict and it was just navarro and mica together. he fought letting the animal out and she fought to bring the animal out.

If you're a Lora Leigh Breeds fan, you'll really like this book. Can be read independent of the others in the series, but it much richer if you've read the previous ones. It was interesting to bring the "recessive breeds" into the mix. Expect we'll hear more about them in future readings. The few missing pages referred to by other reviewers can be read on her website. It's a little inconvenient, but not the author's fault. Enjoy!

I can never figure why these Breed books never get old but I love them. Great characters, sexy, and lots of fun. My only problem is that the end is slightly quick and a little unclear. Otherwise a great addition to the Breed series.

This was a great addition to the Breeds Series. Navarro's and Mica's passion flew right off the page.

This was oddly enough one of my favorites. Other reviews I read were not as favorable. I actually appreciated the struggle that Navarro went through to accept all of who he was, despite the recessed genes. Plus, finally getting to have the story of Mica, Cassie's very first friend was a bonus.

Cassie' best friend/sister Mica Tylor had been in love with Navarro since she was 16. Now her life is in danger from the Marz and Loki coyotes so they can use her to get Brandenmore out of Jonas hold and what every they want for exchange. Navarro caught up to her when she was running away but she is not safe by a long shot. There is no way of getting her out of NYC without a very large team of Breed Enforcers. Her escorts got her save in Sanctuary and now she wants to get back to Haven but all transports out are being held around the country and she has to see her temptation all the time since Navarro is now her bodyguard 24/7 and if she dont get away from him she is afraid to loose her whole heart and soul to him but also afraid that if she does and he does find his mate since all their tests show they are not mate compatible. But she goes all for their one time together until his big surprise shows up and thats when all hell turns loose in Mica's heart
