I've been carrying this around with me for several weeks now trying to get acquainted with my new surroundings. The book seems to have a good variety of species for all the categories you could hope for, however I've only been able to find two of the organisms out of several in it. Pretty disappointing, but I'll continue to carry it around and learn.

The explanations are helpful for id-ing organisms, but don't tell you much else like edibility or whether you should touch it or not or other uses. It's understandable since they're trying to fit as many species into the book as possible.

Fascinating and comprehensive -- everything from weather to terrain to plants and animals to state parks and more. I am an East Coaster who bought a copy of it to study before moving to California, and referenced it often throughout my two years in California. I wish Audobon made one for every state!
