An excellent collection of essays. The back of the book has commentary on each of the essays - I wish I had known in advance; it would have been great to read the commentary as soon as I read each essay.

Bourdain is brilliant, he's entertaining as Hell, but you'd better be a foody with an understanding of French to really enjoy this book. Though I am a little weirded out that when posting this book, the line of books shown as "Members who requested this book also requested", almost all appear to be romance novels.
I'm not sure whether I like this guy or not. Either way, he tells a good story. I now appreciate chefs more than I did, and know that I am not one.

I wasn't sure what to expect from Bourdain, considering the title, but was pleasantly suprised to find this book to be a collection of his writings, gleaned from magazine articles, etc. I always enjoy Bourdain's witty observations of the culinary world.

Interesting essays an everything from crime to creme brulees.

I liked the stories in it, and have read it several times in small chunks. It's a great combination of short stories/essays.

I enjoy Mr. Bourdain's writing. Would recommend this book to others.
Bourdain is brilliant! His writing is colorful, humor-filled and scrumptious!
Well, the title is rather apropos. I found this book to be kind of rude and unpleasant, for the most part. I was looking for a book on food writing a la Ruth Reichl, and this book is nothing like that. I enjoyed 3 or 4 of the essays but the rest were so-so. The second essay in particular is so hateful that I almost put the book down without finishing it.
I did not finish this book from Mr. Bourdain. It did not quite stand up to his other past works. Disappointed to say the least...
In the multiweek New York Times bestseller The Nasty Bits, bestselling chef and No Reservations host Anthony Bourdain serves up a well-seasoned hellbroth of candid, often outrageous stories from his worldwide misadventures. Whether surviving a lethal hot pot in Chengdu, splurging on New Yorks priciest sushi, or singing the praises of Ecuadorian line cooks and Hells Kitchen dives, Bourdain is as provocative, engaging, and opinionated as ever. The Nasty Bits is an irresistible tasting menu of food writing at its outrageous bestserved up Bourdain style
its not kitchen confidential lets put it that way - its a collection of not so sardonic essays that he wrote for other publications - they are not as funny or entertaining as kitchen confidential - if u love bourdain this is him on low heat - there is a collection of afterthoughts for each essay that you will find helpful to read the minute u are done with each essay - as they do tend to run on - all in all not impressed and i really looked foward to it as i had just completed kitchen confidential - be warned there is foul language and mature themes no different in that respect from his other works
