Bourdain is brilliant, he's entertaining as Hell, but you'd better be a foody with an understanding of French to really enjoy this book. Though I am a little weirded out that when posting this book, the line of books shown as "Members who requested this book also requested", almost all appear to be romance novels.

An excellent collection of essays. The back of the book has commentary on each of the essays - I wish I had known in advance; it would have been great to read the commentary as soon as I read each essay.
I'm not sure whether I like this guy or not. Either way, he tells a good story. I now appreciate chefs more than I did, and know that I am not one.

I wasn't sure what to expect from Bourdain, considering the title, but was pleasantly suprised to find this book to be a collection of his writings, gleaned from magazine articles, etc. I always enjoy Bourdain's witty observations of the culinary world.

Interesting essays an everything from crime to creme brulees.
