I obtained a SECOND copy of this book on PBS because I so loved it when I read it as a newlywed over 20 years ago. Debra Evans has a beautiful blend of respect for the way our bodies work, the way we should live in harmony with our cycles, the way we can live in harmony with our husbands in our "body life," and, above all, the way that understanding these things falls so beautifully and harmoniously into place when we are living as Christians before the Lord.
Evans takes a natural approach to pregnancy, childbirth, and birth control (natural family planning), as well as to nutrition and exercise. These things are fairly typical in these sorts of books, but the Christian spiritual dimension is not typical. And her beautiful ending chapter on what it means to grow old gracefully in the Lord is worth the price of the book in itself. Unfortunately, the book is now out of print--that should not be!
My second copy is for my daughters, both in college now.
