Grandmother was very sick. The jar of money mother had saved was now almost gone because the money had to be used to get grandmother well.
Grandmother had encouraged me to play her instruments and told stories of music and dancing from her childhood. That always made her feel better.Granmother, an Aunt, the music teacher, and others encouraged me and my musically inclined friends to practice music to be able to perform for parties so they could fill the jar again for mother. The time and opportunity finally came and the girls were comfortable and enjoyed dancing to the music. When the party was over
they got money for their performance and I put mine in the big jar.
