  how does it feel to be on display,
see nothing but snippets of faces
and hear no voices

to have to guess at what you make them feel;
sometimes horror and sometimes pity,
sometimes a little of both.

does the glass feel safe?
a barrier to harsh voices and rough hands
or maybe
it feels confining
and anything would be worth being outside.

is it worth being everything to one person
for just a few seconds,
the sole focus of their World,
regardless of their reaction?

pity is steeped in kindness.
horror is laced with ignorance.

there has to be something there.
