A great cozy that revolves around a face to face mystery discussion group. The main characters interact well and although Megan is extremely educated (has degrees in forensic anthropology and paleontology) the book didn't talk down to it's readers. A member of the reading group is murdered and Megan (with the help of her middle aged male buddy) uses her wits and brain to logic the puzzle out. The reader is privy to her step by step methodology and her determination to sniff out clues. Ryan (her buddy) goes along with her idea against his better judgement.

This book also gave me a few good chuckles. I will definitely be reading the next in the series.

This is a great murder mystery that mystery book lovers will really enjoy. Lots of references to obsure early to mid-1900s mysteries.

I loved this start of a series, very different writing style and great his/hers views.

1st in a series featuring reference librarian Megan Clark who, along with her neighbor and freind, Ryan joins a mystery book club. I find lots of humor in this series and have enjoyed all of the books written so far.

This book is very predictable. Before the second murder, and the first one happens in the prologue, I had already figured out who the murderer was and why. And I had way too much book left to go. I continued on in hopes of a twist, but it never came. The only good thing about this book is that the main characters are very likeable, though crazy. Very little of what happens in this book seems natural. Much of the book feels like it was written by some cozy mystery formula.

I didn't like this very much, I sort of figured out who the killer was and I didn't like the way the chapters switched between points of view/who was telling the story.

Good story, enjoyed very much. Cozy, interesting characters in the mystery club. Not difficult to solve, but good fun to read.

It started out pretty negative and then it went into over-explaining things and changing points of view. There were some really annoying editorial lapses, including changes in tense and some awkward constructions. I lost interest quickly. Hopefully the books following these are better, but I probably won't be reading them.

A old fashioned mystery in the present.
A myster club has a murder happen right at their doorsteps and must find the real murderer before the police names one of them.
Good reading

This book was just OK. I didn't love the rotating perspectives of Megan and her friend (can't even remember his name!) and there were a lot of pages that were meaningless. I skimmed a lot of them. The mystery itself was good though. I figured out who it was very early on, but not the motive (which was a good one). I doubt I'd read another from this series.

This is the the 1st book in a new series. Reference libarian Megan Clark has a passion for fictional crime--but she and her fellow book readers soon go from reading-- to solving crimes.
