There were a couple points where I had to check to make sure I hadn't read this book already. Some of the subplots are similar to the last book. Still, it was a good read. She comes clean with Phil! And he stays!

Helen Hawthorne's latest dead end job is working in a pet store where the resident dog dresses better than she does. Helen stumbles across a naked and very dead body, gets locked in a dog cage during a hurricane, and inadvertently gives a famous dog to the wrong party (divorce agreement). Again she and her friends all pull together. And Phil is still here better than ever!

Another Elaine Viets winner. I love the twists and turns of her plots. So well written that she holds your interest right from the very beginning. Just when you think you have it figured out, oops, there's another twist. Her books just flow. This one takes place when Helen in employed at a dog grooming shop. Even the dogs are entertaining and surprise murders are coming up everywhere. And missing show dogs too. Loved it.

The story started out with the characters being a little too unbelievable to me, so it took a while for the story to grab me. It is a cute story, a little funny with "over-the-top" characters, but enjoyable. The protagonist solves the mysteries od 2 murders adn a missing pet, but keeps mysteries of her own. A little romance thrown in, as well! I believe this is the first in the Dead-end Job Mystery Series. I plan to read more.

Helen has found herself another dead end job. This time she is working in a high end pup boutique. She is surrounded by colorful characters and all of them are suspects. Can she figure out the mystery before she is arrested?

Out of all her Dead-End mysteries this one kept me guessing till the end.

This book continues the "adventures" of Helen Hawthorne. I will not go into a synopsis since the book cover does a fine job of doing so. However, I did want to mention that I found the language of this book to be more coarse than in previous books in both the sexual situations and speech. (I was surprised not offended.) The first time I read a sentence with a disgusting four letter word, I found myself rereading the sentence to be sure I had actually read it and not imagined it! Don't pass the book up for this reason; just be forewarned.
